Founder and Director
Emmanuel Opoku Acheampong is the founder and Director of Environmental Conservation and Management Foundation. He holds a bachelor of science degree in Development Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, and Master of Philosophy in Agriculture, Environment and Related Studies from James Cook University, Australia. He is currently a PhD candidate with focus on Agriculture, Environment and Related Studies in James Cook University, Australia.
Since 2008, Emmanuel Acheampong has been researching sustainable development issues in Ghana and other developing countries. His focus is on rural livelihood development, sustainable agriculture, and forest conservation in remote areas in Ghana.
Deputy Director
Isaac Obour is the Co-founder and Deputy Director of Environmental Conservation and Management Foundation. He is a business executive and an ardent environmentalist with uncommon passion for nature conservation. His concern about the vicious abuse and destruction of water bodies in Ghana moved him to start a social media movement in 2017 to raise awareness in the fight against galamsey (illegal mining).
His vision is to see a well-managed natural resource for the development of the marginalized in society
Secretary
Gabriel Appiah is the Secretary of Environmental Conservation and Management Foundation. Gabriel holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Studies from Minnesota State University (USA) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. He is currently a Regional Planner at SIouxland Interstate Metropolitan Planning Council, USA, and provides technical assistance to cities targeted at promoting environmental sustainability.
Environmental Conservation and Management Foundation (ecomafghana) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization advocating for forest conservation, protection of water bodies, and rural livelihood improvement and development.
